A secure file sharing platform built on a proprietary encryption framework

A two-phase build for iPrivy, a startup whose product lets organizations share sensitive files securely over a proprietary encryption framework. Leanware turned a loosely defined concept into use cases, estimates, and a serverless microservices platform on Python, DynamoDB, and AWS Lambda.

The situation

iPrivy set out to build a secure file sharing platform: a product that lets organizations share sensitive files over a proprietary encryption framework. The team had the concept and the business case but not a formally defined scope, and the usual risk of loosely scoped builds applied: months of discovery before anything ships, or a build that drifts from what the business actually meant.

What we built

Leanware worked directly from the client’s description, translating it into use cases and stories and estimating the cost before development started, without requiring a formal scope first. The platform was then built in two phases on a serverless microservices architecture: Python services with DynamoDB storage on AWS Lambda, hosted on AWS.

The Leanware side ran with a backend developer, a frontend developer, an architect, a designer, and a project manager, with the CEO involved directly. Weekly status meetings tracked progress, and day-to-day communication ran over Slack.

Outcome

  • Two-phase build delivered on time and to spec from an initially undefined scope

Every deliverable landed on time across both phases. The client’s Clutch review credits the speed at which the business problem was understood, from both a technology and a business perspective, and rates the engagement 5.0 for quality and cost on a roughly $40,000 investment.

"Leanware has met our timelines and delivered everything on time."
